Comedian Boobay is recovering after collapsing during a performance at a festival in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro earlier this week.
On Thursday, Jan. 22, Sparkle GMA Artist Center said in a statement that Boobay is “currently stable and in good condition” following the incident. The agency added that it is providing full medical support as he continues to recuperate.
“Sparkle is fully supporting his recovery with complete medical care, rest, and regular monitoring,” the statement said.
The agency also thanked fans and the public for their concern and messages of support.
The incident occurred during the Basudani Festival Variety Show on Jan. 19, when Boobay collapsed onstage in the middle of his performance. A video shared online showed event staff and medical personnel quickly assisting him before escorting him off the stage.
GMA later said Boobay was able to return to the stage after receiving medical attention, reassuring that his condition had stabilized.
