Award-winning actor Elijah Canlas was among the personalities who joined thousands of Filipinos at the Sept. 21 rally held at the EDSA People Power Monument, where protesters called for accountability over alleged irregularities in government flood control projects.
In his speech, Elijah criticized politicians, government officials, and contractors implicated in the probe.
The actor also expressed hope in seeing a diverse turnout of demonstrators, from young people to senior citizens, who joined the protest against corruption.
“Karapatan natin ang maningil, humingi ng sagot. Huwag kayo matakot.
The gathering in EDSA was part of the “Trillion Peso March,” while another major rally, “Baha sa Luneta: Aksyon na Laban sa Korapsyon,” was simultaneously held at Rizal Park in Manila.
