An eight-year-old “Harry Potter” fan had an unforgettable encounter after meeting author J.K. Rowling during a chance meeting in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
According to a report on “24 Oras,” Sophia Sky Formaliza met the British novelist at Puerto Princesa International Airport, where she was able to get two of her Harry Potter books signed. The moment quickly became a highlight for the young reader, who has loved the series since early childhood.
Sophia Sky shared what draws her to the wizarding world. “‘Yung world po ni Harry, gusto ko po how it is magical… Very happy po ako kasi idol ko po siya at siya po ang gumawa ng ‘Harry Potter,’” she said, thanking Rowling for being kind during their brief meeting.
Sophia Sky’s mother, Angie Larios Formaliza, posted about the encounter on Facebook, describing her daughter as a devoted reader who has gone through the series multiple times.
“She’s basically a walking ‘Harry Potter’ encyclopedia by this time,” Angie wrote, adding that wizard-themed items have topped her daughter’s Christmas wish lists for years.
Angie said the experience left her daughter deeply grateful. “It was truly a dream come true,” she wrote, a sentiment echoed by thousands of netizens who celebrated the moment online.
