After nearly a decade without a solo studio release, Bruno Mars is officially making his return.
The Grammy-winning Filipino-American singer announced this week that his new album, The Romantic, will be released on Feb. 27.
Mars first broke the news on X, writing simply, “My album is done,” before revealing the album title and release date on Instagram. He also confirmed that a new single will drop on Friday, Jan. 9.
The Romantic marks Mars’ first studio album since 24K Magic in 2016, a project that became a global commercial and critical success. The album sold over five million copies worldwide and swept the 2018 Grammy Awards, winning Album of the Year, Best R&B Album, and Record of the Year for its title track.
While he has not released a solo album in recent years, Mars has stayed in the spotlight through high-profile collaborations. His song “Die With A Smile” with Lady Gaga topped the Billboard Hot 100 and set a Spotify record as the fastest track to reach one billion streams.
The collaboration also earned Mars and Gaga the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in 2025. He later achieved the same streaming milestone with “APT.” alongside Rosé, which received multiple Grammy nominations.
