Actor and director Xian Lim has come full circle in his career as he takes the director’s chair for Project Loki, a coming-of-age romantic drama based on AkoSiIbarra’s hit Wattpad novel that has amassed more than 92 million reads since 2015.
Known for his work in thrillers such as Tabon and Kuman Thong, Xian returns to his roots with a youth-oriented story, which is similar to the projects he starred in early in his career as a teen actor.
The director was introduced during the story conference held on Oct. 14, where he was joined by lead stars Dylan Menor, Jayda Avanzado, and Marco Gallo. Lim discussed how the production team plans to bring the story’s mystery and emotional tension to life onscreen.
“I like to start this with a promise, we will do it to the best of our abilities, and we will give justice to the series dahil it’s a masterpiece,” Lim said during the event.
The series follows a young woman who transfers to Clark University and joins a secretive group called the QED Club, whose members uncover secrets and solve mysteries that change their college lives forever.
Gallo will portray Luthor Mendez, a reserved and enigmatic student; Avanzado will play Lorelei Rios, a transfer student trying to escape her past; and Menor takes on the role of Loki Mendez, the QED Club’s distant yet magnetic leader.
They will be joined by Yumi Garcia as Jamie, a drama club standout who later joins the QED Club, and Martin Venegas as Alistair, Lorelei’s loyal best friend. The supporting cast includes Kurt Delos Reyes, Ashley Diaz, Love Yauco, Michael Keith, Joanna Lara, and Iven Lim.
