NREA-DHSUD to host 29th National Real Estate Convention in 2025

The National Real Estate Association (NREA), in partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Settlements (DHSUD), will hold its 29th National Convention on March 6-7, 2025, at the Makati Sports Club. The convention theme is “Elevating Philippine Real Estate Innovation, Sustainability and Inclusive Growth.”

NREA president lawyer Amador Z. Tolentino announced that the annual event, which attracted approximately 500 attendees last year, will feature prominent speakers and panelists from across the real estate sector. The two-day convention will consist of four sessions, each with a keynote address followed by panel discussions covering 22 topics.

Convention chairman Ma. Loren B. Sales outlined the session themes and key discussion areas:

Session 1: Inclusive Housing and Social Equity: Topics include strengthening local governance in housing, leveraging OFW involvement in real estate, regulatory updates, innovative financing for the 4PH program, land reclamation, and city revitalization.

Session 2: Governance and Professional Development: This session will cover PRC updates, the RPVARA law and property valuation, private sector perspectives on 4PH, the House of Representatives’ housing agenda, and the Buklod-Bayan Coalition.

Session 3: Compliance and Real Estate Development: Discussions will focus on Pag-IBIG housing programs, Board of Investments (BOI) priorities for real estate investment, and addressing land use conversion issues.

Session 4: Inclusive, Sustainable, Resilient, and Connected Real Estate Communities: This session explores proptech, paperless transactions, the impact of phasing out internet gaming, technology in real estate, net-zero carbon buildings, infrastructure development, and smart grid technology.

Consultant and NREA Board chairman Imelda C. Magtoto emphasized the convention’s goal of generating innovative ideas to positively impact the Philippine real estate industry, economy, and society by fostering sustainable practices and long-term strategies.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits will be offered for Real Estate Brokers (9), Architects (11), and Environmental Planners (11).

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has endorsed the convention, encouraging attendance from local government officials.
