Art and animal welfare walk to raise support for animal rescuers

Animal lovers, families, and artists will gather for a meaningful morning of advocacy and community engagement during the Art and Animal Welfare Walk this coming Sunday, March 15, from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center.

More than a gathering of pet enthusiasts, the event also serves as a fundraising campaign to support solo animal rescuers and the rescue initiatives of Save Animals of Love and Light (SAVE-ALL), a group dedicated to helping abandoned and neglected animals find safety and care.

The event is sponsored by Tails, Trees and Seas Organization Inc. in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 124th Squadron, bringing together pet owners, animal welfare advocates, rescuers, and community volunteers in support of responsible pet care and compassion for animals.

The morning activity will feature a walk for pets and their owners, symbolizing the strong bond between humans and animals while promoting awareness on animal welfare. Participants and their pets will also take part in a medal awarding ceremony, recognizing their participation and support for the cause.

To add creativity and learning to the event, organizers have prepared art-centered activities including a painting workshop and a resin animal figurine–making activity, encouraging both children and adults to express their love for animals through artistic expression.

Animal health and public service are also central to the event. The Veterinary Service of the Philippine Coast Guard will conduct free anti-rabies vaccination and pet consultations, providing responsible pet owners access to essential veterinary care. At the same time, the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary 124th Squadron will offer free medical consultations for participants, under the leadership of Commodore Dr. Nicolle Lourdes Dela Cruz, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to both animal welfare and community health.

Part of the funds raised will also support the printing of animal advocacy books produced by Tails, Trees and Seas Organization Inc.. These books will be distributed free to children in BASECO Compound during the celebration of Earth Day on April 22, 2026, in partnership with the PCGA 124th Squadron. The initiative aims to instill in young readers the values of kindness toward animals, environmental stewardship, and compassion for all living creatures.

Organizers hope the Art and Animal Welfare Walk will inspire more individuals and communities to support animal protection efforts and recognize that caring for animals is part of building a humane and responsible society. Through advocacy, art, and collective action, the event stands as a reminder that every act of kindness toward animals creates a ripple of hope for the future.
