House Senior Deputy Minority Leader and Mamamayang Liberal party-list Rep. Leila de Lima hit the apparent ‘hypocrisy’ behind the adoption of Senate Resolution No. 307, which reportedly aims to protect Filipinos against “extraordinary rendition” or “extrajudicial rendition.”
De Lima was quick to point out that the legislative document is intended not for ordinary Filipinos, but for Senators Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, Ronald ‘Bato’ de la Rosa, and other co-accused of former President Rodrigo Duterte before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano filed the resolution on February 18, 2026 with all his fellow minority lawmakers, including Go and Dela Rosa. All three previously served in the Duterte administration. The Senate adopted it during a regular session on Tuesday, March 17.
“Hipokrito ang matatawag sa kanila, na sa kabila ng pagsusulong at pagpalakpak nila sa mga patayan sa drug war, ngayon ay dapat daw silang bigyan ng pagkakataon sa korte bago dalhin sa ICC,” De Lima said in a social media post on Wednesday, March 18.
(They can be called hypocrites—for having promoted and applauded the killings in the drug war, they are now saying those involved should be given a day in a local court before being brought to the ICC.)
De Lima said she found it “infuriating” that politicians who helped design, enable, and enforce the senseless ‘drug war,’ which denied “due process” for its thousands of alleged victims, are now seeking it and demanding “fair trial” especially for the “gravest of crimes” such as mass murder.
“Nasaan ang pagpapahalaga nila sa Konstitusyon at sa Bill of Rights noong ipinag-utos ni Duterte ang mga pagpatay? Ngayon lang ninyo biglang naalala na mahalaga pala ang karapatang pantao. Mga hipokrito kayong lahat,” De Lima said, addressing the minority senators in question.
(Where was their regard for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights when Duterte ordered the killings? Only now do you suddenly remember that human rights matter. You are all hypocrites.)
