NLEX Corporation has begun a P200-million technology upgrade for the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) wherein the substantial project focuses on enhancing expressway monitoring and improving data processing. Key components of the upgrade include the installation of additional CCTVs and speed cameras, along with the modernization of computer systems and equipment. NLEX President and General Manager Luis Reñon stated that the system enhancement is crucial “not only for ensuring faster and smoother travel, but also for enforcing stricter road discipline.” Beyond the technology investments, NLEX Corporation is also executing comprehensive infrastructure improvements and maintenance across the SCTEX. The annual pavement repair program commenced this month. Furthermore, the tollway company is continuing the repair and strengthening of the Pasig–Potrero Bridge in partnership with SCTEX owner, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). Routine maintenance, such as tree trimming, signage repair, and drainage cleaning, remains ongoing.
