Authorities in Albay as well as other areas in the Bicol region either declared class suspensions or shifted into alternative learning modes for Monday, February 9, amid a heavy rainfall forecast next week attributed to the shear line.
In an advisory released on Sunday evening, the Albay government through its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) in coordination with Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) recommended the cancellation of onsite classes as a precaution.
“In person classes are suspended tomorrow, February 9, 2026 until lifted and shifted to alternative learning modality in all levels for both public and private schools,” the joint advisory read.
Sailing of small- to medium-sized vessels was likewise prohibited as well as fishing and swimming in swollen rivers.
Classes in all levels and work in public offices across Bato, Catanduanes are also suspended until further notice. Other towns in the said province also canceled onsite classes and shifted to alternative modes.
Several municipalities across Camarines Norte have likewise recommended the suspension of classes or other arrangements amid the ongoing bad weather.
