The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday evening reported that Tropical Depression “Basyang” is now moving west-northwestward over the Cebu Strait.
The tropical cyclone’s center was last estimated over the coastal waters of Dalaguete, Cebu, moving west-northwestward at 10 kilometers per hour (kph).

It had maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 75 kph.
PAGASA said Basyang will weaken into a low pressure area in the next 12 hours.
Its center may make another landfall over the southern portions of Cebu and Negros Oriental between Friday evening and Saturday early morning.
