The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday advised that a low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) could develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Designated “LPA 09g,” it has a “medium” chance for tropical cyclone formation on Wednesday.

Should the LPA develop into a tropical depression, it would be named “Paolo.”
As of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the LPA was monitored 1,360 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.
PAGASA earlier said two to four tropical cyclones will enter the PAR in October.
