President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday inspected the newly built Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark, the first public hospital inside the Clark Freeport Zone, as the government moves to expand healthcare access in Central Luzon.
Located at Changi Gateway in Clark Global City, the three-story facility is designed to serve residents of Pampanga and nearby provinces, as well as more than 151,500 employees, business locators, and investors operating within the freeport zone.
The Pampanga Provincial Hospital-Clark has a 143-bed capacity, including 17 private rooms, 16 semi-private rooms, and 110 ward beds.
Built in accordance with Department of Health standards for Level II hospitals, the facility is equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, including CT scan units, X-ray machines, endoscopy systems, and mammogram equipment.
The hospital also houses specialized units such as an Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Obstetrics and Gynecology services, alongside ancillary services covering radiology, laboratory, pulmonary, cardiovascular, dental, and dietary care.
During the inspection, Mr. Marcos toured the operating room and intensive care facilities and received a briefing from hospital surgeon doctor Filfernan Malto on the hospital’s capabilities and planned operations.
According to the Philippine Health Insurance Corp., the hospital is applying for accreditation under the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program, a government primary care package that provides free consultations, selected laboratory tests, cancer screenings, and essential medicines for members and dependents.
