ROSARIO, Cavite—Five young men, all working as grocery baggers, were caught trying to steal—and drink—several cartons of milk from the supermarket they worked at here.
The suspects—Ace Brian Cabantog, 22; Donrenz Erni, 25; Chemvier Teroylo, 20; Erwin Cuchapin, 21; and Randal Visda, 18—were apprehended by security guard Rommel Maligaya and selling assistant Ray Honrada as they tried to slip the goods past the counters in grocery bags at the SM Supermarket inside SM City Rosario, officer on case PO2 Christian David said.
A sixth suspect, 24-year-old Ronelo Ponaya, managed to evade arrest. CCTV footage revealed the suspects’ movements inside the supermarket, and they will be charged with qualified theft, David added.
