The Marine Battalion Landing Team 9 (MBLT-9) of the 3rd Marine Brigade has received two rubber boats equipped with outboard motors to beef up the unit’s humanitarian assistance and disaster response capabilities.
Lt. Jenny-May Rey, spokesman of the unit, said the boats were donated by the Humanitarian Missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The turnover was held Feb. 19 at the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) headquarters in Brown Hall, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, presided by Brig. Gen. Gregorio Hernandez, commander of the Combat Support Brigade.
“These donations highlight the importance of civilian-military cooperation in strengthening national resilience. The initiative was made possible through the facilitation of the Philippine Marine Corps Foundation Inc. (PMCFI), led by Lt. Gen. Juancho Sabban (retired), executive director, PMCFI,” Rey said.
