The Department of Social Welfare and Development renewed its call for beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to become members of the Social Security System and avail of its low-cost social insurance.
4Ps Social Marketing Division Chief (DC) Marie Grace Ponce said this was in line with the agency’s campaign to promote financial literacy, underscoring the advantage of the 4Ps AlkanSSSya Program.
“Under the AlkanSSSya Program, we teach our beneficiaries to save and deposit into their SSS because it is social insurance to help them in case of illness, childbirth, burial assistance, and so on,” Ponce said.
The DSWD and the SSS signed a memorandum of agreement in July 2024 for the creation of a contribution subsidy table tailored for 4Ps beneficiaries.
The table is based on an actuarial study conducted by the SSS and the beneficiaries’ actual ability to pay the minimum monthly amount of P570.
The SSS monthly premium will be shouldered by the beneficiaries themselves.
The 4Ps beneficiaries who are members of workers’ associations, informal sector groups, and Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations will also be covered by the partnership.
Ponce said interested 4Ps beneficiaries may contact the SSS or their city or municipal links for more details on the AlkanSSSya Program.
