The Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted a parcel containing P10.01 million worth of high-grade marijuana, known as “kush,” at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The illegal shipment was discovered after customs officers inspected the parcel, which revealed 7,154 grams of kush.

The intercepted drugs were handed over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for further investigation and the filing of appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act No. 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act).

This operation was conducted in close coordination with PDEA and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG).

“We are intensifying our efforts to prevent illegal drugs from infiltrating our borders. Each successful operation demonstrates our determination to protect the Filipino people,” assured BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio.

“Our team remains vigilant, working with partners to prevent the trafficking of dangerous substances and uphold the safety of our communities,” he added.
