Customs operatives have foiled an attempt to smuggle cannabis-infused vapes at the Port of Clark in Pampanga.
The shipment, declared as “Label Marker Machines,” was intercepted after the X-ray Inspection Project unit and K-9 unit detected the presence of illegal substances.
“Upon conducting a 100 percent physical examination, Customs authorities uncovered 100 pieces of cannabis-infused disposable vapes from various brands worth more than P250,100,” the agents said.
“Samples were tested and confirmed the presence of cannabinoids. The samples were then turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for laboratory analysis, which verified the substances as marijuana, classified as a dangerous drug,” they added.
Customs district collector Erastus Sandino Austria reaffirmed their commitment in combating illegal goods, emphasizing strengthened partnerships with other concerned agencies.
