Vice President Sara Duterte has officially cast her ballot for the 2025 midterm elections in Davao City, expressing confidence that more than two of their endorsed candidates will secure seats in the Senate.
Speaking to the media on Monday after voting at Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School in Davao City, Duterte said she had given her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, a list of potential candidates backed by their camp who she believes have strong chances of winning.
While she did not disclose specific names or the total number of endorsements, the VP noted that “more than two” are likely to emerge victorious in the polls.
“Binigyan ko siya [Rodrigo Duterte] ng number na more than two… I based that number on surveys na nakikita ko. Both surveys na pinapagawa sa national and local,” Duterte said.
“Tinignan ko siya as one group of individuals hopefully soon to be senators who can continue to push for yung sinasabi nating tunay na pagbabago na nasimulan ni Pangulong Duterte… We want to push for that—continuity and unity,” she added.
Duterte voted at 8:34 a.m. in Davao City. She was assigned to Polling Precinct No. 1245A, under Cluster Precinct No. 361, the same precinct as her father.
However, the elder Duterte was unable to vote today, as he remains in detention at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges related to alleged crimes against humanity. Despite this, he is listed as a candidate in the current election.
Ahead of voting day, the Vice President endorsed the “DuterTEN” senatorial slate under the PDP-Laban party, which is supported by her father.
She also named incumbent Senator Imee Marcos and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar among her 12 endorsed candidates.
