Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon and former Northern Samar congressman Paul Daza each offered a ₱100,000 reward, totaling ₱200,000, for information leading to the arrest of the suspect in the killing of a DPWH engineer.
The reward was announced following the fatal shooting of engineer Karen Corsino Del Valle of the DPWH Northern Samar 1st District Engineering Office in Catarman.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jerome Lluz Tejero, an active Philippine Army member who is now the subject of a police manhunt.
Police said the attack happened March 2 in Barangay Dalakit while Del Valle and her brother were about to park their motorcycle outside the Regional Trial Court.
They were scheduled to attend a hearing for a Violence Against Women and Children case filed against the suspect. Del Valle died from a gunshot wound, while her brother remains in critical condition as police continue the manhunt.
