The Philippine National Police–Aviation Security Group reported the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of more than P114 million worth of shabu at a cargo warehouse in Pasay City on Friday, January 9.
The operation was carried out in coordination with personnel from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, the Bureau of Customs, and the PNP-Avsegroup.
Authorities discovered four boxes containing 16,848 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P114,566,400, concealed inside green figurines and packed in transparent plastic bags.
The illegal drugs were initially detected through cargo X-ray screening and manual inspection by customs personnel, with confirmation from K-9 screening by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspects and seized drugs were turned over to the PDEA National Office as airport security operations continue to be intensified, PNP-Avsegroup Director Brig. Gen. Dionisio Bartolome said.
