The Bureau of Immigration arrested three Chinese nationals, including a former POGO worker, at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 for overstaying and violating immigration laws.
BI operatives from the Immigration Protection and Border Enforcement Section intercepted Chen Shiwei, Pan Xin, and Wang Jianqiang as they were about to board an Asiana Airlines flight to Incheon, South Korea.
Investigations showed that Chen and Pan had overstayed since 2024, while Wang failed to leave the country after the government’s ban on offshore gaming operations.
“We remain vigilant in identifying and removing overstaying and undocumented foreign nationals to protect legitimate businesses and the welfare of Filipinos,” BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said.
Authorities are investigating possible accomplices who may have helped the three evade the law, as the BI strengthens border control to protect national security and uphold immigration integrity.
