Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested four suspects including a Chinese national and seized P15.1 million worth of alleged illegal petroleum products and illicit cigarettes in separate operations in Batangas and Quezon provinces.
CIDG director Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander Morico II said the three suspects identified by their aliases Ed, Sam, and Sid were nabbed by agents of the CIDG Batangas on Monday in a gasoline station in Brgy. Balagtas, Batangas for alleged illegal trading and distribution of petroleum products.
The authorities seized two fuel tanker trucks containing 26,000 liters of diesel fuel, 10,000 liters of unleaded gasoline, and 4,000 liters of premium gas, with estimated total value of P9.14 million.
On the same day, CIDG operatives led by Lt. Col. Rix Villareal collared a Chinese national in Lucena City for alleged smuggling of cigarettes worth P6 million.
