PMA cadet passes Mechanical Engineer Licensure Exam during training

Army Cadet Second Class Rachel Ann Bolaños of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) passed the February 2026 Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination while undergoing military training.

The 24-year-old Army cadet completed her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Sorsogon State University and is a STEM graduate with honors from Sorsogon National High School.

In June 2022, Bolaños chose to forgo attending her college graduation rites to report early to PMA and begin her cadetship.

Since then, she has balanced the demands of military training and academic requirements while quietly preparing for the licensure examination.

In recognition of her achievement, the Academy awarded her the Military Achievement Medal on February 20, citing her outstanding performance both in the profession of arms and in her chosen field.

Bolaños has since dedicated her success to her family and fellow cadets, expressing hope that her accomplishment would inspire others to pursue their goals with determination.

She aspires to graduate from PMA, serve in the Philippine Army, and apply her technical expertise in support of Armed Forces of the Philippines missions.
