The PITF is an inter-agency task force that conducts the verification and investigation of anomalous flood control projects, including on-site inspections and the collection of relevant evidence from concerned regional offices and other site-level sources.

The task force is composed of representatives from the Philippine National Police–Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, the National Bureau of Investigation, in collaboration with the Department of Public Works and Highways.

During the meeting, updates were provided regarding the PITF’s ongoing investigation into irregular flood control projects involving the top 15 contractors, as identified by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. in the previous State of the Nation Address.

The ICI said “the PITF meetings are conducted every two weeks to synchronize and consolidate the collected data, identify critical issues and concerns, and outline the specific actions the team will take moving forward.”
