The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Tuesday reported that two of its personnel are in restrictive custody after being involved in a stabbing incident, which led to one of them being injured and rushed to the hospital.

“The CIDG is now conducting an investigation,” CIDG spokesperson Maj. Helen Dela Cruz said, reading the statement of CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander Morico II.

“The CIDG leadership assures the public that the Unit will conduct a steadfast investigation on the incident; and is not tolerating any infraction, demeanor, violation of laws, and crime committed by any of its personnel,” she added.

According to Dela Cruz, “Police Senior Master Sergeant Mike” stabbed “Police Executive Master Sergeant Echo” in the back with a 12-inch-long kitchen knife at around 7:30 a.m.

The CIDG spokesperson added that Echo was immediately rushed to the Philippine National Police General Hospital for his wound and underwent surgery.

She said the CIDG is now preparing additional charges against the policeman who was arrested after the incident and is currently detained in the nearest police station in Camp Crame.
