THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has condoned a total of P23.9 billion in delinquent loan and distributed 439 individual electronic land titles (e-titles) covering 835 hectares of agricultural lands in Palawan.
Under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling project, DAR converted collective certificates of land ownerships into individual titles, enabling 416 farmer-beneficiaries to secure ownership of their lands.
With individual titles, farmers can go into long-term planning, invest confidently in their farms, access credit, and build more stable future for their families.
The DAR further eased the financial burden of farmers by awarding 1,027 certificates of condonation with release of mortgage to 757 beneficiaries in a 684-hectare land.
The debt condonation lifted decades-old land amortization delinquencies, allowing beneficiaries to redirect their income toward farm improvements, education, health and daily household needs.
Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III underscored that fast-tracking land distribution and debt condonation nationwide empowers farmers, stimulates local economies, and promotes lasting peace and development in rural communities.
He said the achievements affirmed DAR’s strong commitment to people-centered agrarian reform.
