AMID the countdown to Christmas, Cavite province is bound to experience amazing festivities this week led by Gen. Trias City’s observance of its 277th founding anniversary and 10th year of cityhood.
Highlighting the twin celebrations is the much-awaited Valenciana cooking competition.
Also in the list is the Sound of Christmas featuring band concert by eight bands namely General Trias City Band, Banda Matanda, Sta. Cecilia Band, Saint Francis Band, Sta. Veronica Band, Banda Malabon 2000, Community Wind Ensemble and Banda Kabataan.
On the other hand, the Kawayan Festival unfolds in the town of Maragondon, while the upland town of Alfonso takes pride in its Organiko Festival to celebrate their bountiful harvest in their locality on December 10, 11, and 12, respectively.
During the celebration, Gen. Trias Mayor Luis Ferrer IV and City Tourism Head Dennise Columna will lead the opening of the historic Sarayba Ancestral House Museum in the town proper.
