Quezon City (QC) residents on Monday afternoon reported widespread flooding across the locality’s roads and thoroughfares following a thunderstorm.
The QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMO) issued two thunderstorm advisories at 3:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. on Monday, warning of the threat of flooding in low-lying areas and those near rivers due to rains that might persist for as long as two hours.

The advisories also warned of slippery roads and sidewalks that are prone to accidents.
Heavy traffic and temporary road closures were reported in several areas due to the heavy rainfall.
Roads heavily affected by flooding include Kalayaan Avenue and Gregorio Araneta Avenue, among others.
