The Department of Transportation has directed the Land Transportation Office to summon two Department of Public Works and Highways engineers accused of using fake driver’s licenses to enter casinos.
The issue was revealed during a Senate investigation into flood control projects. Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez instructed the LTO to verify the authenticity of the licenses presented during the hearing.
LTO later confirmed that no licenses were issued under the names Marvin Santos De Guzman and Joseph Castro Villegas, the aliases used by the two engineers.
The agency was ordered to issue a show cause order and submit a report to the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee. DOTr reiterated its commitment to integrity and accountability across all its attached agencies.
