Pampanga State University (PSU), formerly known as Don Honorio Ventura State University, suspended its scheduled 2 p.m. graduation ceremony on Thursday following a reported bomb threat, officials confirmed.
“They can proceed with the rites until after we have finished our panelling. The safety of everyone is our top consideration here,” Pampanga police director Col. Eugene Marcelo said in an interview.
Marcelo said a student received the threat through a phone message.
PSU announced the postponement of the August 14 and 15 graduation events on its Facebook page at 11 a.m. without citing the reason.
“We sincerely apologize to our guests, visitors, parents, and candidates for graduation for the inconvenience,” PSU said in its post.
They also announced a shift to online classes from 1pm on Thursday until 15 August without citing any reason either.
“Please be advised that all classes and academic activities across all Pampanga State University campuses (College, Laboratory High School, and School of Law) will be conducted online starting 1:00 p.m. on August 14, 2025, until August 15, 2025.” PSU said.
