AT least eight members of the Eastern Police District’s (EPD) Special Operations Unit (SOU) for allegedly bungling their operation in Las Piñas City last Wednesday, Apr. 2.
“I ordered the relief of the personnel involved, not just that, all the SOUs of the EPD’s 31 personnel were relieved including two officers.
We will subject them to investigation,” said Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin, chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
According to Aberin, the eight operatives were found to have violated police operational procedures.
EPD chief Brig. Gen. Villamor Tuliao said the affected policemen did not coordinate, including leaving their area of responsibility without clearance, not having body-worn cameras, not having other recording devices, and not reporting the operation to their district director.
