The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) acknowledged Sunday results of OCTA Research’s 2024 fourth quarter survey, indicating that 75% of Filipinos “strongly trust” the military.
“This overwhelmingly positive response reaffirms the Filipino people’s continued confidence in the institution’s dedication to national security and service,” AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said.
In a statement, Padilla said the AFP attributed the high trust rating to its “steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation, upholding our constitutional mandate, and ensuring transparency and professionalism in all our operations.”
She also pointed to the Philippine military’s efforts in external defense, disaster response, and peacekeeping as key factors in maintaining public confidence.
“The survey results further reflect public approval of the AFP’s performance in Q4 2024, underscoring the institution’s role in fostering peace and stability amid evolving security challenges,” Padilla added.
She assured that the AFP remains dedicated to strengthening its relationship with the public through continued service, modernization, and adherence to democratic values.
“The AFP expresses our gratitude for the unwavering trust and support of the Filipino people,” Padilla said. “We remain the AFP you can trust.”
