The Philippines and South Korea reaffirmed their strong military partnership at the recent 26th Joint Committee Meeting (JCM) on Logistics and Defense Industry Cooperation.
The meeting concluded last February 7, 2025 in Busan, South Korea with discussions focusing on defense modernization, technology transfer, and joint initiatives aimed at enhancing regional security.
The Department of National Defense (DND) participated in the event in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to transform the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) into a world-class force.
South Korea reiterated its commitment to supporting the Philippines’ ongoing military capability development, underscoring the importance of collaboration in addressing evolving security challenges, according to DND.
DND Assistant Secretary for Logistics and Acquisition Joselito Ramos thanked Defense Acquisition Program Administration Vice Minister Kang Hwan Seug for their delegation’s hospitality.
Ramos also emphasized the Philippines’ dedication to deepening its strategic ties with South Korea anchored on shared values of peace, stability, and prosperity. He underscored both nations’ mutual interest in developing strong and sustainable defense capabilities.
