Airline foresees pax surge during summer

AIRASIA Philippines is preparing for the expected surge of passengers during the upcoming summer vacation, as well as those traveling to and from provinces for the national and local elections.

“We expect a significant surge in passenger traffic in the months leading up to May, as it aligns with both the summer travel rush and the return of voters to their provinces for the midterm elections,” said Steve Dailisan, public affairs and communications chief of AirAsia.

To avoid any travel disruptions, Dailisan encourages the passengers to plan ahead and book early, especially for high-demand routes such as Caticlan, Kalibo, Puerto Princesa City, and Tagbilaran City.

The passengers are also advised to allocate extra time for their journey—at least two hours for domestic flights and three hours for international flights—considering the increase in air traffic and the necessary security checks along key routes leading to the airport.
