The Philippines can expect generally fair weather conditions across its three major islands over the first few days of February, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
PAGASA said it has not monitored any major weather disturbance this weekend. Northern monsoon or ‘amihan’ remains the dominant weather system, affecting areas in Northern and Central Luzon, while easterlies prevail over Visayas and Mindanao.
Weather specialist Benison Estareja said temperatures in Metro Manila remain tolerable ranging from 23 to 30 degrees celsius. Baguio City, meanwhile, continues to enjoy cool weather at 15 to 23 degrees celsius.
“By February 3, the northeast monsoon will intensify and that will be our projected scenario for the rest of February,” Estareja said.
Elsewhere in the country, isolated rains attributed to ‘amihan’ and the easterlies may continue amid hot and humid climate in some parts.
