Operatives of the MMDA Special Operations Group-Strike Force, led by Chief Gabriel Go, conducted searches in areas such as Sgt. Esguerra, Quezon Avenue, Blumentritt Street, and Dapitan Street in Quezon City. The team focused on removing all types of vehicles that were obstructing and congesting traffic flow in these locations.

MMDA chairman Romando Artes emphasized that the agency will continue to clear all public roads, alternative routes, and Mabuhay Lanes to ensure that roadways remain passable and free from obstructions for motorists.

The clearing operation is being carried out in close coordination with local government units, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Philippine National Police.

The MMDA is encouraging the public, particularly barangay officials, to report illegally parked vehicles and other obstructions on major roads and sidewalks in their areas.

Motorists are also urged to take pictures of illegal vendors, basketball courts, and other structures, and upload them to the agency’s official social media account.

Penalties imposed by the MMDA include P1,000 for attended illegal parking and P2,000 for unattended illegally parked vehicles. Towed vehicles are taken to the MMDA impounding area located in Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.
