The country’s New Year celebration for 2025 saw one dead and 381 injured, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) reported on Saturday.
According to the agency’s latest situation report, the death was recorded in Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

“The victim sustained traumatic head injury, 2nd to firecracker injury, lacerated wound,” the OCD said in its report.
Cagayan Valley recorded the highest number of injuries with 116, followed by Ilocos Region with 107, Mimaropa with 69, and Soccsksargen with 66.
Central Luzon, home to the fireworks capital of Bocaue, logged only 23 injuries related to year-end celebrations.
Of the 381 injuries, the OCD said 357 have already been validated.
