The budget allocated for the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)’s Christmas party has been redirected to procure relief goods to the benefit of families affected by typhoons that hit the country recently, according to Director Jaime Santiago.
The NBI held on Monday a ceremonial donation of relief goods and toys to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at Filinvest Cyberzone, Pasay City.
Instead of holding its Christmas party at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), as originally planned, the NBI opted for a simple yet fun and worthwhile celebration at the Filinvest Building parking space and allocated its resources to procure goods to be donated.
Santiago emphasized the importance of unity and kindness during challenging times, as well as the true essence of the Christmas season.
He added the donation activity is part of the agency’s efforts to show solidarity with communities working to recover.
