The Department of Agriculture (DA) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) inspected on Thursday the KADIWA ng Pangulo rice-for-all kiosks and other consumer goods during a visit at the Guadalupe Public Market in Makati City.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel and Trade Secretary Maria Cristina Aldeguer-Roque led DA and DTI officials in checking the quality and prices of basic commodities being sold in market places to ensure reasonable costs and practices amid the Christmas season.
Rice is currently being sold at P40.00 per kilo in the KADIWA ng Pangulo kiosks.
Tiu Laurel talked to vendors about their compliance with the price tag law, National Meat Inspection Service regulations, permits, and stall rentals. This is in line with the 2024 Noche Buena price guide released by the DTI for the benefit of consumers.
