Operatives from the Northern Police District (NPD) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two individuals, including a Chinese national, and seized suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P15.1-million during a sting operation in Navotas City.
In a statement, NPD acting director Police Colonel Josefino Ligan reported that the 40-year-old Chinese national and a 28-year-old, both residents of Brgy. Manganvaka, Subic, Zambales, were apprehended around 6:16 in the morning as part of a buy-bust operation conducted by PDEA and police operatives.
During the operation, authorities confiscated 2,226.6 grams of suspected shabu.
Col. Ligan commended the operational teams for their dedication and effective anti-drug efforts.
“The NPD has reaffirmed its commitment to utilizing effective buy-bust tactics in combating illegal drug activities. The swift and tactical response from our units has not only disrupted local supply chains, potentially saving countless lives but has also contributed to the preservation of community welfare,” he said.
The suspects are currently in the custody of the Navotas City Police Station and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
