The Supreme Court of the Philippines released the results of the 2024 Bar examinations on Friday, December 13.
Out of 10,490 candidates who participated in the exams held on September 8, 11, and 15, a total of 3,962 examinees successfully passed, resulting in a passing rate of 37.84%.
Kyle Christian Tutor from the University of the Philippines emerged as the topnotcher, achieving an impressive score of 85.77%. The University of the Philippines demonstrated its academic strength by securing four positions in the Top 10.
Ateneo de Manila University also made a significant impact, with six candidates featured in the Top 20.
The University of Santo Tomas contributed two topnotchers to the list, while several other institutions, including Angeles University Foundation and San Beda University, each had one representative in the rankings.
In his message to the successful bar examiners, House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez urged the country’s new lawyers to help protect the rights of other Filipinos, promote justice, contribute to the nation’s development and serve the people with integrity and compassion.
“As you begin your journey as lawyers, I encourage you to always keep the greater good in mind. Use your skills to protect the rights of others, promote justice, and contribute to the progress of our nation. The law is a powerful tool to create meaningful change – let it guide you to serve with integrity and compassion,” he said.
“The country needs lawyers who are not only skilled but also principled and driven by a strong sense of duty to the people. Let your practice reflect the values that brought you here – hard work, fairness and service to others,” said the Speaker who graduated from the UP College of Law.
The oath-taking ceremony for successful examinees is set for January 24, 2025.
This year’s examinations were conducted digitally across 13 testing centers nationwide and covered six core legal subjects.
