PMA cadets join cultural exchange activity in Australia

Five cadets from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), led by LTC Ryan Edmar E. Samonte PA, the Tactics Group Senior Tactical Officer, visited the Royal Military College Duntroon (RMC-D) and the Australian Defense Forces Academy (ADFA) in Canberra, Australia, from November 21 to December 1, 2024.

During their visit, the cadets engaged meaningfully with their counterparts from RMC-D and ADFA through a variety of activities, including sports competitions, physical training sessions, military exercises, and structured cadet programs.

They participated in a lecture on Troop Leading Procedures and Platoon-Level Planning, learned about Operational Order writing, and observed Field Training Exercises and battle drill rehearsals conducted by RMC-D cadets.

“These activities served not only to hone their skills and camaraderie but also to provide an avenue for the exchange of insights, best practices, and military traditions,” stated PMA.

The PMA emphasized that these activities highlight international partnerships and friendships while underscoring the importance of cultural understanding, an essential aspect of developing cadets as future leaders of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

This visit is part of the PMA Foreign Academy Exchange Program (FAEP), which aims to forge people-to-people relationships with international academy counterparts toward becoming global partners.
