The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Saturday reported that Typhoon “Marce” (international name: Yinxing) caused significant damage in the Philippines, leaving one person injured and another missing.
Both incidents occurred in the Ilocos Region, with authorities currently validating the reports.
The typhoon affected a total of 21,273 families or approximately 65,610 individuals. Of these, 8,319 families (24,369 people) sought refuge in 365 evacuation centers, while 3,810 families (12,498 people) received assistance outside these centers.
Impacted areas include the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Heavy rainfall from Marce triggered three landslides in Cagayan Valley, where it made landfall twice, further complicating the situation.
The NDRRMC reported that 3,750 families require immediate assistance, totaling an estimated cost of P3.68 million. As of Saturday, aid has been provided to 3,498 families in the affected regions.
