Troops from the 9th Infantry “Spear” Division (9ID) and a contingent from the Australian Army worked hand in hand on Thursday to provide food packs to evacuees in Naga City who were affected by the massive flooding caused by Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine.”
The Spear troopers and their Australian counterparts are currently training together for “KASANGGA” 2024-2, the inaugural combined training exercise between Filipino and Australian ground forces in the Bicol Region.
This combined exercise is taking place from October 14 to November 8, 2024.
The leadership of the Philippine Army assures the Filipino people of the operational readiness and commitment of the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) teams to save lives amid the extensive flooding brought about by “Kristine.”
Army soldiers, reservists, and Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Units (CAAs) are working around the clock alongside government responders to rescue flood-affected families and provide much-needed aid to calamity-stricken communities.
