Miru delivers 3rd batch of ACMs

More than 7,400 automated counting machines (ACMs) to be used in the May 2025 midterm elections arrived this week, bringing the total number of ACMs already in the possession of the Commission on elections (Comelec) to 63, 480 units.

Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia said the latest delivery of 7,488 ACMs is the third batch of the newly manufactured ACM deposited at the poll body’s warehouse in Biñan City, Laguna.

“We have 57.37 percent of the 110,620 ACMs that have been delivered by the service provider, South Korean firm Miru Systems, to the country,” Garcia said.

Garcia said Miru is expected to deliver another shipment of ACMs by the end-October.

The delivery also includes the corresponding privacy screens, thermal paper rolls, devices to help disabled voters, paper seals, power cords, and more.

Miru is expected to complete the delivery of 110,000 ACM units to the Philippines by the end of the year, Garcia added.

Garcia said if any damage is detected even by initial visual inspection, the Comelec physical and quantity verification committee will return the items for immediate replacement.
