Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) earlier launched the “Dream Green” project in collaboration with the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI), aimed to boost the mangrove plantations in Brgy. Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas. This initiative aligns with Hyundai’s global vision of “Progress for Humanity,” which emphasizes the brand’s commitment to creating meaningful change beyond its vehicle lineup by enriching lives and sustaining the environment.
The “Dream Green” project is part of Hyundai Motor Company’s global campaign, where subsidiaries worldwide contribute to environmental sustainability through tree-planting initiatives under the “IONIQ Forest” program. This campaign reflects Hyundai’s dedication to fostering a cleaner and more sustainable lifestyle.
Present on the project’s kickoff and first batch of tree planting were executives from HMPH, including Mr. Jiho Son, President; Mr. Cecil Capacete, Managing Director; and Mr. Hongshik Chin, Chief Financial Officer. Also present were Ms. Amaya Cristina A. Fansler, CEO and President of RAFI, and Ms. Mariefe del Mundo, Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager. The local community was represented by Honorable Edgar J. Johnson, Chairman of Brgy. Lumaniag, along with officials from the Provincial Government Environmental and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).
“Today is just one of the many examples of how our vision extends far beyond being an automotive company,” said Mr. Jiho Son. “We feel a strong responsibility to contribute to a more sustainable future for all. This belief inspired HMPH to participate in this project, where we aim to plant 5,000 mangroves today as part of our goal to plant 55,000 trees by 2028. We look forward to achieving this goal alongside the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation.”
