New fashion label makes Philippine debut in Makati

Southeast Asia’s fashion platform Pomelo, in partnership with The SSI Group, has opened its Philippine flagship store at Glorietta 1 in Makati.

The 270-square-meter space offers Pomelo’s signature collections designed for various occasions, from casual weekends to corporate wear, beach trips, and city errands.

The store features two of the brand’s core lines: Sophisticated Urban, which highlights sleek, city-ready tailoring in muted tones, and Velvet Horizon, which focuses on feminine rustic charm with floral prints, ruffled details and soft fabrics. It also carries VERSE, an independent brand with lace and pleat designs, tweed textures and pearl crystal embellishments. Other collections include Resort Wear, Sports Club, Workwear and the Pomelo x Hello Kitty collaboration.

“Pomelo is built on the belief that style should be both current and easy to wear,” Pomelo CEO and co-founder David Jou said. “Every piece is designed with our customers’ lives in mind—clothes that can naturally transition from a client meeting to an after-work dinner, a weekend brunch to an afternoon of arts and wellness, or a last-minute errand run to a trip abroad. Our Philippine flagship brings that vision to life, offering collections that reflect every facet of modern living with style.”

Anthony T. Huang, president and CEO of The SSI Group, said the launch strengthens SSI’s fashion portfolio. “The launch of Pomelo in the Philippines marks a significant milestone in our partnership with the brand and further strengthens the diverse portfolio of fashion labels under the SSI Group,” he said.

“Pomelo brings a fresh, confident take on fashion, and we’re excited for Filipino shoppers to experience its distinct style, both through its thoughtfully curated collections and its engaging in-store experience,” he added.

The Glorietta branch is the first of two Pomelo stores set to open in Manila this year. A second outlet will open at Robinsons Place Malate within the year. The brand is also available on Zalora and will soon launch on Shopee.

Founded in 2013, Pomelo is an omnichannel fashion company that integrates trend, technology and customer experience. Its Tap.Try.Buy. model allows customers to order online, try items in-store and pay only for what they keep. The company uses eco-conscious materials, water-neutral denim and ethical production practices.

Pomelo products are available on pomelofashion.com, the Pomelo app and marketplace platforms. In the Philippines, the brand is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists Inc.
