Manila receives medical supplies donation amid financial crisis

The city government of Manila received on Tuesday assorted medical supplies worth P5.2 million to support its health services as it faces a financial crisis and public health emergency.

In his message, Mayor Francisco Moreno Domagoso expressed his gratitude, stressing the value of transparency.

Alvez Commercial, Inc. turned over more than 120,000 pieces of assorted medical supplies, including examination gloves, surgical tapes, and IV cannulas, to the city government.

The supplies include 1,310 boxes of small examination gloves, 2,240 boxes of medium, and 2,980 boxes of large, 99,600 pairs of latex sterile gloves (sizes 6.0 and 7.0), 588 boxes of hypoallergenic surgical tape, and 53,900 pieces of IV cannulas in various gauges.

They will be used to aid 6 hospitals and 44 public health centers as the city government confronts concerns in financial health and public health services.

Together with Domagoso, OIC-City Treasurer Paul Vega and OIC-City Health Officer Dr. Grace Padilla received the supplies.
