PLDT unit, CIMA agree to improve global connectivity

PLDT Global Corp., the international arm of PLDT Inc., formed a major strategic partnership with CIMA Telecom, one of the largest telecommunications traffic aggregators in Latin America, to expand connectivity and improve telecommunication services across Latin America, Africa and the Asia-Pacific regions.

The partnership will enable PLDT Global’s wholesale partners to access competitive rates and high-quality connections, while CIMA Telecom will leverage on PLDT’s extensive network to strengthen its routes in the Philippines and Asia, further optimizing traffic flow between the regions.

“Our alliance with CIMA Telecom further strengthens PLDT Global’s position as a key player in connecting Asia to the rest of the world,” said PLDT Global president and chief executive Albert Villa-Real.

“By providing enhanced services to our partners and customers, we aim to support the growing demand for connectivity solutions and address the evolving needs of global communications,” he said.

CIMA Telecom chief commercial officer Juan Pablo Angel said the partnership is a significant step to enable both companies to reach new markets and provide high quality services to customers in Latin America and Africa.
